I am a wife and a mother to three children.  I grew up in Southeast Texas with lots of extended family.  When I was 18, I went to BYU, and at 21, I went on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  I had the privilege of serving in Sao Paulo Brazil for 18 months.  I returned to BYU after my mission and then graduated with a Degree in History and Biology with a secondary education certificate.  I taught school for the next 6 years before meeting and marrying my husband.  We lived in Utah when we were first married and then soon moved to Texas.  We lived there for a few years before moving to Upstate New York.  We have lived here for 10 years.

What brings you the greatest happiness?

Being with my family.

What strengthens your faith in Jesus Christ?

When I have trials and I turn to Jesus Christ, I feel His Spirit and understanding and know that He is very aware of what I am experiencing.  Also, scripture study, and listening and studying General Conference talks helps me increase my faith in the Savior.

O Jerusalem by Greg Olsen

How has one of your spiritual gifts/talents benefited your life?

I feel like I have been blessed with a very strong testimony of Jesus Christ and His Gospel.  I have been able to bear this testimony often, which has helped me to keep a proper perspective.  Also, my testimony has helped me during the trials that I have experienced in life.  Times when I might have wanted to quit or give up, my testimony has sustained me and helped me to keep moving forward.

How do you know when you’ve received answers to prayers?

I will often times just feel peace about a decision I am trying to make.  Sometimes thoughts will come to me as I pray. Also, during the day, when I am reading my scriptures or listening to uplifting music or messages, thoughts or ideas and impressions will come to mind and I know that I am receiving answers to my questions.

Share your conversion story:

I honestly believe that I have always felt that the Church was true. Over my life as I have prayed, read scriptures, and gone to church, I have been continually converted.

What are ways you share & live the Gospel with your family or others around you?

In my family, we read scriptures and pray together daily.  I try to take opportunities to teach my children about Jesus.  I also try very hard to practice good behavior with my family members.  I make mistakes, but then I apologize and try to do better.

What is your hope/wish/prayer for all women throughout the world?

I hope that all women in the world know that they are daughters of God and that He loves them very much.  I also hope that we can be kind to each other and see the good that each one of us possesses.

What is your greatest accomplishment?

My family.
