Can I Have Church at Home?
Q: Can I Have Church at Home?
We all know that Jesus wants us to worship. That seems pretty straight forward. And many of us have witnessed amazing blessings that come from our willingness to worship at church. It’s a sacrifice, and God rewards that sacrifice. But what if circumstances make it impossible to attend church? Are those blessings only reserved for those who are physically present in the congregation on Sunday? Or is it okay with God when we worship in our homes?
Yes, depending on your circumstances
“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
“‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, …
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
