Jesus was a Carpenter
“From Humble Circumstances”
Jesus was raised no differently than the average Jewish boy. He was the oldest son, helping with the chores and caring for His younger siblings. At a young age, He began working in His father’s workshop. Joseph was a carpenter, and he taught his son how to carefully envision the finished product, and patiently find it in the wood. Jesus grew strong as He lifted heavy pieces and used tools to chisel and shape the wood.
Jesus was a grown man when He left His parents’ home and the carpentry shop. At the age of thirty, He embraced His mother, and then His father, leaving behind His father’s trade for the mission assigned to Him by God.
