Jesus Rebukes the Pharisees
“But God knows your hearts.”
The Master said, “No servant can serve two masters. He will love one and hate the other. You cannot serve God and the world.”
The Pharisees heard Jesus say these words and mocked Him because they loved the attention and status of the world.
“You are those who try to justify themselves before men,” said Jesus to the Pharisees. “But God knows your hearts. The things that make men popular are wicked in the eyes of God.
“It is easier for heaven and earth to fall than for one tiny part of God’s law to go unfulfilled.”
