Chiefs CEO Gives the Glory to God After AFC Championship Win

In a world where celebrities often take all the glory for themselves, it’s refreshing to see someone share the limelight with the one responsible for all good things. Clark Hunt, CEO of the Kansas City Chiefs did just that last Sunday after his team beat the Tennessee Titans in a 35-24 win, their first AFC title. But more impressive than the win was what Hunt said as he accepted the trophy on behalf of his team.

Addressing the entire stadium of fans as well as national television, he said, “I want to thank the Lord for blessing us with the opportunity. The glory belongs to Him.”

This isn’t Hunt’s first time to publicly share his beliefs. Back in October of 2019, Hunt talked about how his faith is a top priority. At the CityFest East Texas Men’s Luncheon, he spoke about his efforts to ensure that his employees could still worship on game Sundays. “We want our employees to develop spiritually,” told the crowd. “In the National Football League, Christ is really glorified. My identity is my faith in Christ.”
